BCSSGBA High School Players of the Year and Top 15
The BCSSGBA conducts a coaches poll to establish a BC High School Player of the Year and a Top 15 Players of the Year.
GRADE 12 ALL-STAR GAME Site: Langley Event Centre Date: late March or April
In conjunction with LEC, the BCSSGBA hosts an annual all-star game for graduating players. Grade 12 players are selected by the BCSSGBA who 1st invite all A, AA, AAA Provincial Tournament All-stars, MVPs and Best Defensive Players who are in grade 12. Then: provincial BEST scholarship winners, A, AA, AAA HM’s are considered and if a spot is still open, the BCSSGBA will seek out other top grade 12 players through coaches. However, spots are limited and once the 1st group of invites go out, typically few spots remain.

Zone Championship Tournaments are to be held two (2) weeks prior to the Provincial Tournament.

Berthing for the ‘A’ Tournament will include representation from each of the seven BCSS zones and one HOST berth. Wild card berths may be allocated by the BCSSGBA Executive if not all zones have representative teams.

Half berths are playoff berths. Playoff game formats will be determined by the BCSSGBA Executive during a conference call.
Wild cards will be allocated to zones by the BCSSGBA Executive. A financial subsidy is available for teams traveling for playoff games.
AAA TOURNAMENT 16 TEAM FORMAT
Fraser Valley – 3.0 + 3 x 0.5 berths = 4.5
Lower Mainland – 3.0 + 2 x 0.5 berths = 4.0
Vancouver Island – 2.0 + 0.5 berths = 2.5
Kootenays – 1.0 berths
North Central – 1.0 berths
Northwest – 1.0 berths
Okanagan – 1.0 berths
Wildcards – 1.0 berths
The wildcard berth could be allocated as TWO half berths or ONE full berth to any zone.

If Wildcard is split to other zones, two wildcard teams would be involved in the Challenge games.
TIER ELIGIBILITY see BCSS
A: 1 – 80 girls in Grades 11 and 12 AA: 81 – 225 girls in Grades 11 and 12 AAA: 226 or more girls in Grades 11 and 12.
Teams may choose to play up out of their designated tier, however, they must declare their intent to do so. Notification of intent to play up is to be sent to the Commissioner(J. Stannard) in writing by November 30. Failure to provide notification will result in teams being required to participate in their designated tier – based on BCSS registration numbers as of September 30. Teams may not play in more than one tier for championship play.
TEAM ELIGIBILITY: Team eligibility is as per BCSS rules and regulations. All applicable deadlines and registration procedures as per BCSS must be adhered to for teams to be eligible for competition. Schools may not register a second team in another tier for sanctioned competition.
PLAYER ELIGIBILITY: Player eligibility is as per BCSS rules and regulations. All BCSS rules governing eligibility are to be adhered to for players to be eligible for competition.
