The LEC will host eight high school provincial basketball championships over a three week period. The dates and events are as follows:

It will also be the first time that the Junior Girls, AA Girls and AAA Girls compete during the same week at the same venue, which will add to the excitement across all three levels.
“Giving the junior girls the opportunity to be a part of the AA and AAA senior girl’s events will be something special for all involved,” said B.C. Secondary School Girls Basketball Association President, Brett Wescott. “The LEC has become a great home for these tournaments and this will be a great way to celebrate girls’ basketball, collectively, in one week.”
The LEC will again work in partnership with the committees of each event to create a memorable experience for all those participating,
“We are looking forward to again hosting the basketball community here at the LEC and working with the committees, partners and great tournament sponsors such as TELUS to deliver another spectacular three weeks of basketball,” said LEC Director of Business Development, Jared Harman. “Players, coaches and spectators alike look forward to the Championships each year.”
TELUS has supported the event since 2009.
“As an Olympic athlete and the leader of the Olympic Team in Sochi, I know first-hand that participating in sports encourages youth to foster leadership, self-confidence and team-building skills that are invaluable in their future growth and development,” said Steve Podborski, TELUS National Director of Community Sport. “At TELUS we believe in giving where we live, and as part of our commitment to the development of local youth, we are once again donating $20,000 in scholarships for male and female senior basketball players who wish to pursue a post-secondary education and varsity career.”
